It doesn't seem to have made any sense that Volkswagen would supply the Brazilian-made Kombi to Indonesia, since Brazil is LHD while Indonesia is RHD, and also the Brazilian '76-'96 was pretty much outdated compared to the German bay-window. Not sure if the Apartheid-era sactions prevented Volkswagen to supply Indonesia with the South African models, but since that is another RHD market it would have made more sense.
